(STATE TOURNAMENT SUMMARY)
CLASS A
HOWARD LAKE-WAVERLY-WINSTED LAKERS
The Lakers earned third place in the state duals with a big win over the Section 7A champion Royalton-Upsala 37-225. They were defeated by the state champions Jackson County Central in the semifinals 54-18. The Lakers defeated the Section 5A champions Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa 32-30 in the third place dual. Raydon Graham (113), Mitch Mallak (152) and Tyler Gracyk (182) all went 3-0. Gabe Michels (120) went 2-1 and Collin Boese (195) and Jakob Duske (285) both went 2-0. The Lakers earned two individual medals, Raydon Graham (113/43-9) earned a second place medal and Collin Boese (170/39-4) earned a second place medal. The Lakers completed their season with dual record of 28-7.

BELGRADE-BROOTEN-ELROSA JAGUARS
The Jaguars earned fourth place, they defeated Medford 42-22 (8-6 match splits) in the quarterfinals. They were defeated by the No. 2A ranked Caledonia/Houston in the semifinals 33-27 (8-6 match splits).The Jaguars were defeated in the third place match by Howard-Lake/Waverly-Winsted, the section 4A champions 32-30 (7-7 match splits) Aiden Mueller (106), Maximus Hanson (170) and Harley Weber (285) all went 3-0. Ryan Jensen (132), Wyatt Engen (138), Carson Gilbert (182) Talen Kampsen (195), Ethan Spanier (220) all went 2-1. The Jaguars earned four state tournament medals, including a state championship by Maximus Hanson (170/48-1). Ethan Spanier (220/41-6) earned third place, he lost 7-5 decision to the champion in the semifinals. Ryan Jansen (132/43-5) earned fifth place and Carson Gilbert (182/30-15) earned sixth place.
WEST CENTRAL AREA/ASHBY/BRANDON-EVANSVILLE KNIGHTS
The Knights earned sixth place in the state duals, they were defeated by the Jackson County Central 48-17 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinal they defeated Royalton-Upsala 31-29. The Knights were defeated by the Section 2A champion Medford 37-33 in the fifth place dual. The Knights completed their season with a 20-8 dual meet record. The Knights earned four state tournament medals; Anthony Sykora (182/48-2) earned a second place medal. Hunter Gruchow (145/45-7) earned a second place medal, Solomon Wales (138/39-13) earned a fourth place medal and Owen Gruchow (106/37-10) earned a sixth place medal.

ROYALTON-UPSALA ROYALS
The Royals earned four state tournament medals, Alex Diederich (132/22-1) earned second place, he was defeated by a defending state champion. Alex earned a Tech. Fall, 19-5 major decision and in the semifinals a fall of 2:55 on his way to the championship, where was defeated 3-0. Bryce Holm (220/38-6) earned fourth place, he won 7-0 and 6-5 in the quarterfinals. He was defeated by the 2X defending champion and he earned a 1-0 win in the consolation semifinals. Sawyer Simmons (152/33-11) earned fifth place, he won 9-2 and in the wrestle backs, he earned a 1:30 fall and a 5-0 decision. He was defeated 2-0 in the consolation semifinals and he won 14-8 to earn fifth place. Brandon Mugg (285/35-8) won 3-2 in the first round, he was defeated 1-0 in the quarterfinals. He earned two wins in the wrestle backs, he won a pair of 7-4 decisions. He lost 4-0 in the consolations semifinals and he dropped the fifth place match 3-0.The Royals were defeated by the Section 4A champion Howard Lake/Waverly-Winsted 37-29 (6-8). Alex Diederich (132), Will Gorecki (145), Sawyer Simmons (152), Kaden Holm (195), Bryce Holm (220) and Brandon Mugg (285) all went 2-0. Special Note: Alex Diederich (132) was named to the West Fargo All Tournament Team.
HOLDINGFORD HUSKERS
The Huskers earned two medals, Drew Lange (160/48-6) earned second place, he won a Tech. Fall and a fall to reach the semifinals. He beat section 7A rival 5-4 to advance to the championship. He was defeated by the Section 1A champion 6-3 in the championship. Wyatt Novitzki (120/47-9) won his first round 6-2 and in the quarterfinals he won 7-3. he was defeated by the state champion in the semifinals 6-3. In the consolation semifinals he won 5-0 and he was defeated by the Section 5A champion in his third place match.
PAYNESVILLE AREA BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs earned two medals, Peyton Hemmesch (182/36-7) earned third place. He had a fall in his first round match and in the quarter finals and he won a OT match over the Section 7A champion 6-4. In. The semifinals he was defeated by the defending champion. He won his first wrestle back with a fall and he defeated the Section 2 champion by a fall to earn third place. Spencer Eisenbraun (285/34-6) earned fifth place, he earned a major decision in the first round and he was defeated in the quarterfinals 2-1 in OT. He won his first wrestler back by a fall and he had an OT win over section 5 foe 4-1. He lost by a fall in the consolations semifinals and he defeated conference for 3-0 to earn Fifth place.
UNITED NORTH CENTRAL WARRIORS
They were defeated by the Section 1A champions Caledonia-Houston 35-23 and in the consolation semifinals they were defeated by the Section 2A champions Medford 38-20. Shawn Hendrickson (195) was their lone wrestler to go 2-0 in the state duals. They compiled a 19-7 season dual meet record. The Warriors earned one state tourney medal by Shawn Hendrickson (195/24-10) he earned a sixth place medal.
BERTHA HEWITT/VERNDALE/PARKERS PRAIRIE RAIDERS
The Raiders got one state tournament medal by David Revering (145/40-9) he earned a fifth place state tournament medal. Special Note” Abby Ervasti (138/22-4) earned the State Championship.
LONG PRAIRIE/GREY EAGLE/BROWERVILLE WOLVES
The Wolves earned three state tournaments medals by: Gavin Albers (126/45-3) earned a third place medal, Tate Twardowski (182/42-5) earned a fifth place medal and Tucker Zigan (160/39-10) earned a sixth place medal.
STAPLES-MOTLEY CARDINALS
The Cardinals earned a pair of state tournament medals, Colbe Tappe (138/43-4) earned a second place medal and Elijah Greenwaldt (106/40-7) earned a third place medal.
BORDER WEST BUCCANEERS
The Buccaneers earned a pair of state tournament medals by: Eli Larson (126/46-2) earned a second place medal and Cole Sykora (113/45-3) earned a third place medal.
MINNEWASKA AREA LAKERS
The Lakers earned a pair of state tournament medals by: Miles Wildman (106/40-4) earned a fifth place medal and Chase Smith (120/36-6) earned a sixth place medal.
ATWATER-COSMOS-GROVE CITY FALCONS
The Falcons earned one state tournament medal by Jevon Williams (160/40-4) earned a third place medal.
CLASS AA
BECKER BULLDOGS
The Bulldogs earned third place as they defeated PLPR/B in the quarterfinals 42-24 (9-5 match split) and in the semifinals they were defeated by No. 1AA ranked SIMLEY 39-15 (5-9 match split). They defeated No. 3AA ranked Kasson-Mantorville 33-27 (8-6 match split). Kaden Nicolas (126), Landen Kujawa (132), Adam Jurek (160), Owen Angell (170) and Tyson Ricker (195) all went 3-0. Bennett Kujawa (106/113) Drew May (145) and Dylan Kolby (220) all went 2-1. The Bulldogs earned five medals, Kaden Nicolas (126/47-5) earned a second place medal. Kaden won his first match with a 8-2 decision and he had a fall in his quarterfinal. In his semifinal match he won 4-1 over the section 1 champion. In the championship, he was defeated 6-3 by the defending state champion. Landen Kujawa (132/42-8) earned third place, he had a Tech. Fall in his first match and won 7-3 in the quarterfinals. He was defeated by the Section 3 champion in a 9-4 OT match in the semifinals. Landen won a 2-1 OT match over the Section 1 champion and he defeated the Section 5 champion 5-3 to earn third place. Tyson Ricker (195/45-4) earned fifth place, he earned a fall of 4:36 in his first round and in the quarterfinals he won 4-3 of the Section 1 champion. He was defeated by the defending champion in the semifinals. He was defeated 6-5 by 6-5 in his consolation semifinal and he earned a Tech. Fall in his fifth place match. Ethan Duncombe (152/38-11) earned fifth place, he lost his first match 4-3 and defeated the No. 4 seed in his first wrestle back match 8-3. He won his 2nd wrestle back 13-9 and in the consolation semifinals he was defeated 4-2 by the No. 3 seed the Section 1 champion 4-2 and Ethan won his fifth place match 11-5. Bennett Kujawa (106/33-17) earned fifth place, he won his first match by Tech. Fall and he was defeated by the champion 9-2 in the quarterfinals. He won his first wrestle back 14-7 and he defeated the No. 3 seed and Section 1 champion 5-3 in his second wrestle back. In the consolations semi finals he was defeated 4-0 and he defeated the Section 3 champion 8-7 for the his fifth place medal. Adam Jurek (160/38-10) did not place, he was defeated in his first match 9-2 by the No. 3 seed and he lost his first wrestle back 3-2. Dylan Kolby (285/22-5) won his first round match 7-1 and he was defeated by the state champion in his second match and he lost his first wrestle back match.

The United crew was defeated by Kasson Mantorville in their quarterfinal dual 47-18. They defeated the Section 7AA champions Mora 42-30 in the consolations semifinals and the Section 8AA champions PLPR/B 35-32 to earn the fifth place team trophy. Ben Gunlogson (106/113) and Zander Clausen (138/145) both went 3-0. Holland Schacherer (120), Daniel Gunlogson (126), Kameron Sather (132/138), Holt Larson (170/182) and Zach DeBeer (220) all went 2-1 in the duals. The United crew earned two state tournament medals by: Ben Gunlogson (106/43-3) earned a third place medal and Brady Rhode (285/40-7) earned a fourth place medal.
PEQOUT LAKES/PINE RIVER-BACKUS ROAD CREW
The Road Crew were defeated in the state quarterfinal duals by the Section 6AA champions Becker 42-24. They defeated the Section 5AA champions Totino Grace 38-31 in the consolation and they were defeated by DB/LQPV/MONTI 35-32 in the fifth place dual. Trey Tuchtenhagen (182) and Riley Peters (285) both went 3-0, Parker Zutter (113), Easton Miller (120), Chance Abraham (152/160) and Corbin Knapp (195) all went 2-1 in the state duals.
MORA MUSTANGS
The Mustangs were defeated by New Prague in their quarterfinal 47-20 and by United in the consolation semifinals 42-30. Mason Nelson (120/ and Nathan Nelson (132) both went 2-0 for the Mustangs. The Mustangs earned one state tournament medal by: Nathan Nelson (132/41-8) earned a sixth place medal.
WATERTOWN-MAYER ROYALS
The Royals earned three state tournament medals by: Titan Friederichs (113/45-0) earned a state championship medal. Bryce Burkett (170/46-1) earned a second place medal and Joel Friederichs (106/42-6) earned a fourth place medal.
PIERZ PIONEERS
The Pioneers earned one state tournament medal by Carter Young (113/34-5) earned a sixth place state tournament medal.
BIG LAKE HORNETS
The Hornets earned state tournament medal by: Nolan Reiter (145/34-4) earned a third place state tournament medal.
ANNANDALE/MAPLE LAKE LIGHTING
The Lightning Nathan Klatt (220) was defeated in his first round match by the state champion. Nathan won his first wrestle back 12-1 over a conference rival. He was defeated by the No. 4 ranked wrestlers in his second round wrestle back. Cassen Brumm (106/36-8) was defeated in his first round match by the Section 3 champion 6-5 and in his first wrestle back he was defeated 4-0 by the section 1 champion.
ROCORI SPARTANS
The Spartans Grady Minnerath (220/44-4) earned third place, he won by a fall his first match and 6-0 over the section 7 champion in the quarterfinals. He was defeated by the No. 2 seed in the semifinals, he defeated the section 3 champion in the consolation semifinals by a 4:56 fall. Grady debated the section 2 champion 6-2 to earn his third place medal. Evan Moscho (152/36-10) was defeated 4-0 in his first match and then eliminated.
SAUK RAPIDS-RICE STORM
The Storm’s Vance Barz (126/32-6) earned the third place state tournament medal. Vance was defeated by the No. 3 seeded in his first round 8-7. He come back four matches to earn third place. He defeated Section 3 champion 6-4 and in his second wrestle back he won 5-2. In the consolation semifinals he defeated the No. 3 seed 5-1. SAINT MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE KNIGHTS
The Knights won their state quarterfinal dual over the Section 7 champions Anoka 58-13 and Stillwater in the semifinals 56-11. They were defeated by Hastings in the championship 33-32. Mason Mills (120), Ian Schultz (126), Landon Robideau (132), Parker Janssen (138) and Jarrett Wadsen (152) all went 3-0. Chase Mills (113), Noah Jorgenson (170) and Logan Torkelson (285) all went 2-1. The Knights earned eleven state tournament medals by: Landon Robideau (132/46-0) and Jed Wester (160/40-2) both earned state championship medals. WILLMAR CARDINALS
The Cardinals were defeated by Hastings 40-25 in their quarterfinal dual. They defeated Rochester Mayo 48-16 in the consolation and defeated Apple Valley 41-21 to earn the fifth place state trophy. Cavin Carlson (120), Ivan Mares (126), Sulley Anez (132) and Conlan Carlson (138/145) all went 3-0. Mattix Swanson (160), Romero Trevino (195) Zander Miska (220) and Daunte Castellano (285) all went 2-1 and Eli Heinen (138/145) went 2-0. The Cardinals earned three state tournament medals by; Conlan Carlson (138/41-5) earned a third place state tournament medal. Braeden Erickson (170/40-6) earned a fifth place state tournament medal and Sulley Anez (132/33-12) earned a sixth place state tournament medal.
CAMBRIDGE-ISANTI BLUE JACKETS
The Blue Jackets earned three state tournament medals; by Leo Edblad (113/39-3) earned a second place state medal. Treytin Byers (170/40-6) earned a fourth place state medal. Special Note: Kami Senlycki (185/15-0) Won the state championship.
BEMIDJI LUMBER JACKS
The Lumber Jacks earned one state tournament medal by: Dane Jorgensen (152/48-4) earned sixth place. The Bemidji girls earned four state tournament medals; Elizabeth Oster (165/12-5) earned second place, Maya Schmidt (185/22-6) earned fourth place, Malaya Gotchie (107/25-8) and Imrie Mishe (132/12-16 both earned sixth place.
LITTLE FALLS FLYERS
The Flyers Hank LeClair (195/40-4) won his first round match with a 14-3 major decision. He was a defeated by the section 5 champion 6-1 in his quarterfinal match. Hank was defeated 6-3 in his first wrestle back match.
BRAINERD WARRIORS
The Warriors earned one state tournament medal by Easton Dircks (132/44-5) earned a fifth place state medal.
ST. CLOUD CRUSH
The Crush’s Tucker Hugg (285/40-5) earned a fifth place state tournament medal. Tucker won his first round match 4-1 and then was defeated in the quarterfinals 4-3 by the wrestler that earned fourth place. Tucker won his first wrestle back with a Popp, a fall of 2:50 n his second wrestle back match 7–0 over his section rival. He was defeated in the consolations semifinals 5-3 by the No. 4 seeded and Section 4 champion 5-3. Tucker defeated the Section 2 champion 4-2 in his fifth place match. Special Note: Tucker’s sister Camryn Kenning at junior won the state championship at 235 with three big falls, 1:08 in his quarterfinal and in the semifinals she had a 1:37 fall and in the championship she earned a 3:40 fall.
