The Bulldogs defeated Caledonia 46-22 in their quarterfinal section 1A dual and in the semifinals they defeated Dover-Eyota 42-32. They were defeated in the section 1A championship by Zumbrota-Mazeppa 50-15. The Bulldogs graduated seven very good seniors last spring, including five with 28 plus wins. This included six section place winners, five super section place winners and a pair of state medalists. The Bulldogs will return six with a great deal of experience, all with 21 plus wins. This Includes five section place winners and a super section place winner. The Bulldogs should challenge those very good dual meet marks if they stay healthy and they can fill in with some junior varsity. They could move up in the conference standings, look for steady improvement from this young crew. They should make a strong challenge for section 1A dual meet honors, what should be a pretty balanced section dual meet campaign. Their key leaders should include: Cohen Wiste (37-8), Donavon Felton (32-2), James Jacobson (26-13), Aiden Quintana (23-14), Braxton Wiste (23-17) and Christian Luthe (21-13).

The Knights defeated Maple River 40-20 in their first round of the section 2A duals. In the section 2A championship they defeated Blue Earth Area 45-24 and in the Super Section they were defeated by Jackson County Central 45-30. The Knights did graduate six seniors last spring, including six section place winners. Five super section place winners, including one state medalists. The Knights will return seven with a great deal of experience, this includes seven section place winners and two earned super section placement. Look for this young team to fill in with junior varsity and make strides of improvement thru out the season. If they stay healthy look for them to challenge those very good dual meet marks from last season, they could challenge for conference honors. Look for the Knights to make a strong challenge for one of the top four spots in what could be a very balanced section 1A dual meet campaign. The Gophers defeated St. Charles 67-8 in their first round section 1A dual and in the semifinals they were defeated by Zumbrota-Mazeppa 37-30. The Gophers graduated five seniors, including including four super section place winners, two were state qualifiers and one earned a state championship. The Gophers will return twelve with a great deal of experience, including eight section place winners. This includes five super section place winners of which one earned a state medal. This will be a very experienced team, with six 20+ match winners returning. Look for the Gophers to challenge those dual meet marks from last season and to make a strong challenge to defend their conference honors. The Gophers should make a strong challenge for a top four spot in what should be a pretty balanced section 1A dual meet campaign. Their key leaders should include Grady Schott (31-1), Campbell Berge (26-7), Kail Schott (25-7), Gage Bartels (22-6), Ben Carrier (21-8) and Carson Rowland (20-10).

The Wildcats didn’t graduate anyone and they will be returning seventeen with a great deal of experience, including nine section place winners, including five super section place winners. One state medalist also returning for this very experienced crew. Look for the Wildcats to challenge those dual meet marks from last season and likely move up in the conference standings. They should continue to make strides of improvement thru out the course of the season. Look for the Wildcats so make a strong challenge for one of those top four section 1A spots, in what should be a very balanced section dual campaign. The Eagles defeated Fillmore Central 63-13 in their first section 1A dual and they were defeated by GMLOS 43-32 in their second round dual. The Eagles graduated three seniors last spring, all were super section place winners, one earned a state medal. They will return seven with a great deal of experience, including five section place winners and four super section place winners. This young team will be led by their two returning state medalists. If they can fill in with junior varsity and they should make strides of improvement thru out the season. They should challenge those dual meet marks form last season and likely move up in the conference standings. The Eagles should make a strong challenge for one of the top four spots in what should be a pretty balanced section 1A dual meet campaign. The Warriors will have twelve returning with a great of experience. This does include nine section place winners and four super section place winners. One state champion to lead the way for what will be a pretty experienced team. The Warriors should continue to make strides of improvement thru the course of the season. Look for them to challenge those dual meet marks from last season and to move up in the conference standings. They should make a strong challenge for one of the top four spots in what should be a pretty balanced section 1A dual meet campaign. This includes four section place winners and a state qualifier. If they can fill with junior varsity the Fighting Saints could challenge those dual meet numbers last from last season.
