Section 6A will be returning seventeen state qualifiers including five state place winners. Hunter Gruchow (2nd), Solomon Wales (4th) and Owen Gruchow (6th) from West Central Area, Tucker Zigan (6th) LPGE, David Revering (5th) BHV/PP. 

WEST CENTRAL AREA KNIGHTS

Head Coach: Brandon Gruchow

Park Region Conference: 5-0

Overall Duals: 20-7

The Knights will have back ten section place winners, of which five were state qualifiers. Three earned state tournament medals and the Knights earned both section honors and state honors. They will have seven back with eighteen plus wins. They did graduate four last spring, including three section place winners, of which one earned a state medal. The Knights defeated OTC 66-10 in the section quarters, NYM 54-15 in the section semifinals and BHV/PP 48-28 for Section 6A honors. The Knights were defeated by JCC 48-17 in the state quarters, in the consolation semifinals they defeated R/U 37-29 and they were defeated by Medford for fifth place honors 37-33.

The Wolves will have back five section place winners, of which one was a state medal winner. They will have back nine with a great deal of experience, including five with twenty-three plus wins. They did graduate five section place winners, including two state medal winners. They defeated WHAN 60-18 in the section quarters and in the semifinals they defeated Staples-Motley 37-32. They were defeated by Royalton-Upsala 39-19 for section honors. The Woves will now be in Section 7A, look for them to make a strong challenge for Section dual meet honors. The Wolves should challenge for Conference honors and their dual meet marks from last season.

Overall Duals:

The Raiders will have back eight section place winners, including two state qualifiers, of which one earned a medal and eight with experience. They overall have a young team back, with the graduation of four seniors last spring, including three state qualifiers. They defeated Wadena-Deer Creek in the section quarters 37-15 and Border West in the semifinals 36-30. They were defeated for the championship by WCA 48-20. If they spread out in their weights, stay healthy and are able to fill in with junior varsity they should make a challenge for a final for spot in the Section 6A dual meet campaign. They will have six with twenty-six plus wins back for this season.

They did graduate two last spring, of which one was a section place winner. The Silverstreaks will have back nine with fifteen plus wins, they should challenge for a top four spot in the Section 6A dual meet campaign. They should improve on their dual meet marks from last season. The Silverstreaks were defeated by NYM in the section quarters 43-26.

The Eagles will have back eight section place winners, including a state qualifier and six others with experience. They will have back nine with ten plus wins, look for this young team to make strides of improvement thru out the season. They defeated Osakis in the section quarters 43-26 and were defeated in the semifinals by WCA 54-15. They did graduate three last spring, including a pair of section place winners, one did earn a state medal. The Eagles could possibly challenge for a top four spot in the Section 6A dual meet campaign. Look for them to challenge their numbers from last season.

They defeated Pelican Rapids 36-31 in the section quarters and they were defeated in the section semifinals by BHV/PP 36-30. They will have nine with fourteen wins plus, and overall a young team with some good experience. They did graduate four seniors last spring, three section place winners, including one state qualifier. Look for the Buccaneers to make a strong challenge for a top four spot in what should be a pretty balanced Section 6A dual meet campaign. They could challenge those good dual meet marks from last season.
