WEST DIVISION

The Coop defeated Albany in their first Section 6AA dual 70-6 and Becker 36-24 for the Section 6AA championship. They defeated Totino Graces 63-10 in the Super section final. They defeated Fairmont/Martin County West in the state semifinals 41-23. In the state championship they were defeated by nationally ranked Simley 68-6. They gained a great deal from their state tourney experience, they did graduate a very good bunch of seniors. Five with twenty-seven wins or more, including five Super Section place winners and one state medalist. They will have ten back with a great deal of experience, including six with twenty wins or more. Seven Super Section place winners and the state medalists. They should make a strong challenge to defend their section dual meet honors and conference honors. If they stay healthy, they could challenge for a top four spot in the state dual meet campaign. This is yet a pretty young team, look for them to make steady improvement thru the course of the season. Their key leaders should include: Juke Link, Eddie Simes, Hayden Hoernemann, Victor Franco, Tate Link, Gabe Nelson and Brendan Rokala.

With six back with eighteen wins or more, look for this experience group to make steady strides of improvement thru out the season, if they stay healthy and fill in with some of their junior varsity wrestlers. They all earned double figure wins, look for them to have a very balanced team. They should make a strong challenge for a top four in the section 2AA dual meet campaign. They should challenge those dual meet marks from last season and possibly make a challenge for conference honors. The Lakers defeated Norwood Young America 66-6 and they were defeated in the semifinals of Section 4A by Kimball Area 52-18. The Lakers did graduate two good seniors last spring, including a pair section place winners and a super section place winner. They will return twelve with a great deal of experience, including ten with double figure wins. Ten section place winners and six super section place winners. Look for this over all young team to challenge their dual meet marks from last season and possibly move up in the conference standings. Look for the Lakers to continue to make strides of improvement thru out the season. They should make a strong challenge for one of the top four spots in the Section 4A dual meet campaign. In the semifinal they were defeated by Dawson-Boyd/Lac Qui Parle/Montevideo United 43-33.The Wildcats did graduate three very good seniors last spring, a pair of state medalists. They will return eight with a great deal of experience, including seven section place winners and threw super section place winners, this includes three state qualifiers and one medalist. The Wildcats overall will be a young team, if they can fill in with some junior varsity they should challenge last years dual meet marks and possibly move up in the conference standings. Look for steady improvement from this crew, they could pull off a couple of surprises by the seasons end. Their key leaders should include: Luke Knudsen, Luke Ruter, Isaiah Elton and Brody Duke.

The Trojans did graduate four seniors last spring, including a pair of Super Section place winners of which earned a state championship. They will be returning ten with a wide range of experience. This includes six with twenty plus wins, four state medalists, including a pair of state champions. Look for the Trojans to challenge for Section 2AA duals honors. They should make a strong challenge to defend their conference honors. If they stay healthy they could make a challenge for some state dual tourney hardware. The Wildcats will return thirteen with a great deal of experience, including nine section place winners and three super section place winners. Look for this experienced team to defend their conference honors. The Wildcats will make a strong challenge to get back to the Section 6AAA section dual meet championship. The Wildcats should be considered one of the top AAA teams in the state. The Lakers defeated Norwood Young America 66-6 and they were defeated in the semifinals of Section 4A by Kimball Area 52-18. The Lakers did graduate two good seniors last spring, including a pair section place winners and a super section place winner. They will return twelve with a great deal of experience, including ten with double figure wins. Ten section place winners and six super section place winners. Look for this over all young team to challenge their dual meet marks from last season and possibly move up in the conference standings. Look for the Lakers to continue to make strides of improvement thru out the season. They should make a strong challenge for one of the top four spots in the Section 4A dual meet campaign. Their key leaders should include: Caleb Boese (29-8), Wiley Wiegert (25-7), Collin Boese (22-4), Isaac Busse (20-14) and Mitchel Mallak (15-11).

The Wildcats defeated MAHACA 52-19 in the first round section 3AA dual. In the semifinal they were defeated by Dawson-Boyd/Lac Qui Parle/Montevideo United 43-33.The Wildcats did graduate three very good seniors last spring, a pair of state medalists. They will return eight with a great deal of experience, including seven section place winners and threw super section place winners, this includes three state qualifiers and one medalist. The Wildcats overall will be a young team, if they can fill in with some junior varsity they should challenge last years dual meet marks and possibly move up in the conference standings. Look for steady improvement from this crew, they could pull off a couple of surprises by the seasons end. Their key leaders should include: Luke Knudsen, Luke Ruter, Isaiah Elton and Brody Duke.

The Trojans defeated Prior Lake in their first round Section 2AAA dual 42-25 and they were defeated in the semifinals by Shakopee 42-21. The Trojans did graduate four seniors last spring, including a pair of Super Section place winners of which earned a state championship. They will be returning ten with a wide range of experience. This includes six with twenty plus wins, four state medalists, including a pair of state champions. Look for the Trojans to challenge for Section 2AA duals honors. They should make a strong challenge to defend their conference honors. If they stay healthy they could make a challenge for some state dual tourney hardware. Their key leaders should include: Koy Buesgens, Colton Bornholdt, Joey Novak, Evan Anderson, Brady Westall and Evan Farley.

The Wildcats defeated Minnetonka in the first round section 6AAA duals 46-20. In the section championship they were defeated by St. Michael-Albertville 41-28. The Wildcats did graduate three last spring, including nine super section place winners and eight state qualifiers. The Wildcats will return thirteen with a great deal of experience, including nine section place winners and three super section place winners. Look for this experienced team to defend their conference honors. The Wildcats will make a strong challenge to get back to the Section 6AAA section dual meet championship. The Wildcats should be considered one of the top AAA teams in the state. Their key leaders should include: Max McEnelly, Gage Mueller, Lincoln Vick, Maverick Mueller, Alex Torres, Bradee Dwinell, Josh Wagener, Gage Mueller and Alex Riley.

The Tigers will be a young team, but look for them to continue to make strides of improvement thru out the season. They could challenge years dual meet marks. They could surprise a couple teams before this campaign is done. Their key leaders should include: Hayden Vanderhoot, Max Martin, Treyton Card and Riley Gill.
